Kevinm New MemberI have a paid Business class ticket YYZ-FRA-JNB-LHR-YYZ with AC, Lufthansa and SAA . I know that there’s a reasonable chance of being able to get a first class rewards ticket on Lufthansa if I try a few days prior to flying (and I’d really like to do that on the 747-8…). Given that I already have this ticket is there any way that I can do this ie will “the system” allow me to book a rewards ticket and then cancel my purchased ticket after the fact? Other ideas?

OCTinPHL DiamondYou may be able to hold the award ticket (i.e. it won’t be ticketed so there won’t be a duplicate itinerary under the same name), cancel the paid ticket, then call back and ticket the award the ticket? Not sure if Lufthansa’s IT will bounce the award hold…
