New Istanbul Airport layover time

New Istanbul Airport layover time

  1. Mary Alice New Member

I will be flying from Tbilisi to Zurich in October. The flight I found has only an hour and a half layover in Istanbul. I am worried that this may not be enough time to make the connection. Any advice?
    Thank you!

If you’re on a single ticket with that connection, it’ll be the airline(s) that have to make sure you get to your destination in the event of delays.

If you’re on separate tickets, it may be a good idea to change your ticket to get a longer layover. From Ben’s reports, the new airport is huge and doesn’t have a lot of moving walkways to get from one point to another quickly.

The new airport is large, but it is also quite manageable, as there aren’t many long corridors to walk, just the large terminal space. If it’s on TK, there should be little worry, as they can re-accommodate you on a later ZRH flight.
