Hidden City mechanics on Etihad

Hidden City mechanics on Etihad

  1. Javaguy New Member

I have never done this before and have a question about the mechanics of using a hidden city ticket, in particular on EY.

    Ticket:
1-way ticket from IAD > AUH > XYZ (random connecting destination)

    And assuming the following:
Visa is no problem to XYZ, and only carryon bags

    Questions:
    1. Do I just “miss” the connecting flight while in AUH airport? Or is it better to notify them once I’ve arrived?
    2. If I have a separate connecting flight already booked from AUH somewhere else ALSO on Etihad will they care (like will their system see that i have two flights with overlapping times and auto-cancel one of them) or is it advisable to use a different carrier?
    3. If i credit mileage to AA will there be any issue? I know there can be backlash if crediting to same airline but I’m guessing this is fine?

    Thanks!
