Hello Lucky- I want to treat my mum to a trip to Hong Kong from Scotland as a thank you. My choices are either Emirates first class from Glasgow or Qatar business class from Edinburgh. Is Emirates first worth £1000 extra each. It is a special trip and am happy to pay if it’s worth it, but Qatar looks so good in business. Help!

Dfox, welcome. If you have the means and can pay the 1k difference easily, Emirates first is significantly better. They have a 777ER on the first leg and a 380 on the second. Ben has reviews of both products in the reviews section at the top of the page.

If money is a concern, QR business is also a very good product (as Ben just wrote about yesterday, he would rate it as the best overall business class).
