I want to fly Etihad from Hong Kong to Abu Dhabi and land at around 1130 pm in time for a 330 am flight to JFK. But I want to book the JFK leg on points so the reservations have to be separate. Is it too risky to attempt this? If the first flight is delayed I will be in trouble. Thanks for any help!

Obviously there are no guarantees but I would be comfortable with a four hour transfer.

Connections at AUH is pretty easy, I’ve never had much of wait at transit security. Any reason why you cant book both flights on the same award ticket?

Sounds like one leg is on points and the other is d cash ticket.
