Thats a great question and somewhat tricky…
If I buy a ticket now for travel next year, I absolutely want EQDs to count for when I fly since it’ll help towards re-qualifying for 2018 status. However, if im buying a ticket in late 2017 for travel in 2018 and im short EQDs, I’d want it to count immediately for re-qualification purposes….

I guess we will find out soon enough but my guess is the EQD would credit when you fly.
