The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse London Heathrow (LHR) is excellent, and I rank it as one of the best business class lounges in the world. However, the lounge definitely wasn’t feeling cutting edge anymore as of late, so there’s some positive news.

Virgin Atlantic unveils Heathrow Clubhouse updates
While I wouldn’t call it a full renovation, Virgin Atlantic has just unveiled some positive changes that have quietly been rolled out at the Clubhouse, which are all now available. I recently covered how we’re seeing the temporary return of a spa in the lounge, but there’s a lot more to this.
First, the lounge’s gallery has been reimagined, intended to further highlight the panoramic runway views from this part of the lounge. This updated space is described as being inspired by the character of London, with the space featuring subtle references to the city’s transport heritage, alongside signature Virgin Atlantic touches.

The lounge also has two new work pods, the first time the lounge has had truly private workspaces. These are styled as a tribute to Virgin Records, and the pods are named “The Townhouse” and “The Manor,” with each space having studio-inspired artwork, integrated power, and a desk.

The lounge’s cinema area has been reimagined, and is intended to be inspired by London’s members’ clubs and Soho’s private screening rooms. Enhanced seating includes integrated charging ports, TV access, and bluetooth headphones.

The lounge also has a new Royal Box VIP section, as it’s described. This concept was first launched at the new Clubhouse Los Angeles (LAX), but it’s now also available at Virgin Atlantic’s hub. This is an invitation-only space, and it features runway views.
This private space also has a “Cabinet of Curiosities,” described as “a bespoke table built for discovery, surprise and delight,” offering everything “from indulgent sweet treats to celebratory champagne moments.”

Lastly, the lounge has two wellness pop-ups. Through May 31, 2026, you’ll find three Somadomes, described as the world’s first immersive wellness domes. The self-guided light therapy and meditation domes are intended to deliver calm, focus, and metal reset, in just 20 minutes.

Then through April 30, 2026, you’ll find spa treatments from Secret Spa, including express massages, facials, manicures, and more.

There are more Heathrow Clubhouse updates on the way!
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow was already excellent, so there was no need to reinvent the wheel. So I think all of these updates are thoughtful, and should be well received by guests. I definitely think the new spaces look stylish, and more modern than what they’re replacing.
Now, I do wish the wellness concepts weren’t just pop-ups, but were actually permanent features of the lounge, since that’s a really nice amenity that I know many guests value.
The good news is that we’re told that we can expect even more changes at the Clubhouse in the coming months, so I look forward to seeing what else Virgin Atlantic has in store.
Bottom line
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow has undergone some positive updates, ranging from new work pods, to a new cinema area, to a new space for VIPs, to temporary wellness pop-ups. I’m delighted to see these updates, and am excited to see what else the airline has in store!
What do you make of these Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow updates?
Are children safe in a Virgin clubhouse given Brandon’s long standing friendship with Epstein?
It’s a beautiful lounge, just miss the heyday of amenities. I used to have long connections in LHR. I would go through international transit off an early AM arrival, check into the lounge, drop off my bag, have a coffee and breakfast, put my name on the list for a hair cut or massage for later that day closer to my evening departure. Then I’d go backwards thru transit and thru proper immigration. Out to...

Then I’d go backwards thru transit and thru proper immigration. Out to the arrivals lounge, have another coffee, a facial, and hop onto the tube and head into London for the day to see friends, but without having to lug my carryon. Then would head back to the clubhouse for dinner and whatever I had booked, have a shower and hop on my second flight. Those were the days! Maybe they’ll be coming back it sounds!
@Ben, please do update if you get any more insight to what’s on the horizon.
Wow, a stunning ... 2 work station pods. Amazing innovation by VS at their flagship lounge!
The updates have already been made. I was there earlier this month.
The article seems like it just reformats a VS press release. What would be actually interesting is to figure out how one gets invited to the invitation only space.
What do you expect? Ben to actually review what he’s talking about first-hand. What a concept that’d be!
David - I think it’s fine for Ben to share what Virgin have announced so long as it’s clear it’s them, not him, extolling its virtues. He isn’t saying this is his review of the place, for instance, just this is how Virgin describes it. Do you suggest he not mention it until he reviews it?
Oh hi, James. Interesting take. No, that's not what I said. What I would love is more incisive analysis. OK so there's an "invitation only" space. Who gets in? What does it offer? These are appropriate questions for Lucky to ask VS.
To be fair, typically airlines don't say who gets access to their invitation only spaces so I doubt VS will be sharing that publicly unless it becomes less of an invitation situation and more of a published perk in future.
@ david -- It's a totally fair point, and for what it's worth, I do often reach out to contacts to try to get more information. The reality is that all too often, it takes them many days to get an answer, if they can get one at all (often they're just not willing to share more than what's in the press release -- that's not specific to Virgin Atlantic, but in general).

So as I view it, here I'm covering the actual news that has been reported (you're right, I'm reporting what's in a press release), but if I can get more insights, it's a great topic for a follow-up story. But I don't view the two as being mutually exclusive. Because if I only wrote about this when I got the answer to some of those questions, people would accuse me of reporting old news.
Hope that makes sense. :-)
Have these updates already occurred? Or is this them announcing the updates?
There's no timeline listed for these changes so the article reads like the former.
The area behind the bar has been completed, the pods and VIP area is also completed, not sure about the cinema area as that was blocked off when I was last there.
