Save At Saks Fifth Avenue With Amex Offers (Targeted)

6

I frequently write about the Amex Offers program, and in particular, the travel offers available, which can save you money or earn you bonus points. In this post I wanted to highlight a new shopping offer that has just been rolled out, because I think it could come in handy for many.

Spend $500+ with Saks, earn 5K Amex points

With a new targeted Amex Offers deal, you can earn 5,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when you spend $500 or more with Saks Fifth Avenue by November 17, 2023. If you register, you can qualify for this offer up to twice. It’s possible that there’s also a version of the offer for a $50 statement credit rather than 5,000 points, but I’d consider the points to be more valuable.

Earn up to 10K bonus points by shopping with Saks

The key terms to be aware of are that the purchase must be made in-store at Saks Fifth Avenue or online at saks.com. Furthermore, this offer excludes Saks OFF 5TH stores, saksoff5th.com, e-gift cards, purchases shipped outside of the United States, and restaurants located within a store.

Personally I value Amex points at 1.7 cents each, so to me the 5,000 points are worth $85, representing a ~17% rebate in the form of points.

Why I think this Amex Offers deal is worth being aware of

As mentioned above, I typically only write about Amex Offers deals for travel purchases, so why am I highlighting this offer? Well, a few reasons:

  • Most high-end department stores have standardized pricing for big brand items, so you might as well buy from the store giving you the best deal; whether you’re looking for perfume, or skincare products, or candles, or many clothing items, you’ll pay the same for a specific brand no matter where you buy
  • You can always use a shopping portal like Rakuten for your Saks purchase, and then earn even more rewards

Bottom line

There’s a new Amex Offers deal that can earn you up to 10,000 bonus Membership Rewards points for purchases with Saks Fifth Avenue.

Do you plan on using this Amex Offers deal for Saks purchases?

Spend $500 for 5000 points or $500 twice for 10,000 points (yes I have that targeted offer) - that's a little ridiculous in my mind - I recently did an offer where if you spend $1000+ you got 25,000 points - and yes I did

I normally get the high-end stuff like cologne at duty free, but find the Saks credit useful on "dumb" things like socks or underwear. I love Bombas socks and they're the same price at Saks as their own store. Being $12-$15 a pair, it's easy to use the $50 credit and not overspend doing it

This is subjective to each, but the only problem is those "dumb" $12-$15 socks are not 10x better than a dozen for the same price at Costco.

Data point to add: I have a targeted offer for 7,500 points when spending $750 or more. I have similar offers for Bloomingdale's, as well as directly from other high-end designers.

While I agree perfume, or skincare products are my answer to the annoying 6-month Platinum credit.

Don't overlook the duty free shops from all over the world, because you do fly around.
