The Alaska Airlines Business Visa Card (review) is offering a massive new welcome bonus, which is the best publicly available offer we’ve seen on this card.

Earn 70K Alaska miles plus a companion fare

The Alaska Business Visa Card is now offering the following best-ever bonus after spending $4,000 within the first 90 days of account opening (note that there’s no end date published for this offer):

  • 70,000 Alaska Mileage Plan miles
  • An Alaska companion fare from $121 ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from $22)

This is an amazing bonus. As a point of comparison, the card previously offered 40,000 bonus miles, so the mileage component of this bonus is 75% bigger than before. Personally I value Alaska miles at 1.7 cents each, given all the great uses of Alaska Mileage Plan miles. That means the miles are worth $1,190 to me. That doesn’t even account for the value of the Alaska companion fare.

Alaska Business Visa card eligibility

Many may be curious about eligibility and restrictions associated with the Alaska Business Visa Card. A few things to note:

  • Among business cards, anecdotally I find Bank of America business cards to be quite easy to get approved for, assuming you have excellent credit
  • Anecdotally it seems that you’re eligible for the Alaska Business Visa (including the bonus) even if you’ve had it in the past; this is one of the best cards out there in that regard
  • Applying for a Bank of America business card typically won’t count toward the 5/24 limit with Chase, if that’s a consideration

So business cards don’t get much better than this in terms of approval odds and bonus eligibility.

Why the Alaska Business Visa Card is worth it

Beyond the excellent bonus, there are several reasons to get the Alaska Business Visa Card. The card has a $50 annual fee for the company, plus a $25 fee for the card, meaning one user having the card would just cost $75 annually.

The card offers lots of amazing perks, including a companion certificate on your account anniversary every year, a free checked bag on Alaska Airlines for you and up to six guests on the same reservation, 20% back on Alaska Airlines inflight purchases, 3x Mileage Plan miles on Alaska Airlines purchases, and more.

If you fly Alaska Airlines with any frequency, the companion fare alone should more than justify the annual fee.

The Alaska companion fare is really valuable

Bottom line

The Alaska Business Visa Card has a fantastic bonus of 70,000 miles plus a companion fare after completing minimum spending. This is the biggest bonus I ever recall seeing on the card, and on top of that the card is anecdotally pretty easy to be approved for. Even those who had the card in the past may still be eligible. If you don’t yet have the card, this would be an ideal time to apply.

Do you plan on picking up the Alaska Business Visa Card with 70K bonus miles and a companion ticket?

Thanks Ben, I am approved instantly. Thanks for sharing the link!

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

      @ Kohinoor1 -- Congrats!

  2. Ben Guest

Can I have more than 1 of the business version?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Ben -- I've seen reports of people being able to have more than one, though can't guarantee it'll always work. If others have any data points, please report back.

    2. Colin Guest

Yes! I got 2 of these less than 3 weeks apart.

    3. Colin Guest

yes, i was approved for 2 [same card, same Sole Prop, same app details] with three weeks of each other.

  3. Jance Guest

If approved, does that always mean you'll get the bonus (once required spend is met)? Wondering if this is like Citi or Amex where, you may get approved for the card but silently denied for the bonus. Anyone know how B of A rolls with that?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Jance -- That's a great question, hopefully someone else can chime in. The data points I've seen suggest that if you're approved and complete the spending requirement you'll get the bonus, though it's possible there are some situations where that's not the case.

  4. Josh Guest

Does anyone know when this offer is set to expire/be pulled?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Josh -- Unfortunately we don't know, sorry.

  5. Mike Guest

Approved! Thank you. But it showed up on my credit report albeit -9 points. I am a dba.

    1. Matt Guest

The hard pull will always show up on your report and ding your score a little, even for business cards. The card account itself won't report to your personal file though.

  6. Andy Guest

    insta approved for 16K.

Legit LLC with a BoA personal and business checking acct.

I've done the Alaska biz probably a half a dozen times back in the days with just a sole proprietor. Their biz cards are definitely some of the easiest to get approved for.

I was approved for this card on the 25th and received the card on the 30th. I have only had the chance to put 1 charge on it….what are the long/short odds of me calling in and getting a matched offer? I mean, Im going to call…I cant today…but Im concerned that since this doesnt seem to be a publicly listed offer that this dog wont hunt.

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Colin -- There are some reports of Bank of America matching better offers. So it couldn't hurt to call in and ask, but I also wouldn't count on it.

  8. JC Guest

can I get approved if i recently opened the personal version of this card? (like a month ago)

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ JC -- Yep, you're absolutely eligible for both the personal and business card.

  9. Raylan Guest

Any ETA on the expiration of this offer?

    1. Bobo Bolinski Guest

Would like to know this also. Any hints or informed speculation?

    2. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Raylan -- Unfortunately I have no insights there. Interestingly this isn't even being marketed as a limited time offer, best I can tell, but presumably the offer will change at some point. I would speculate that it will be around for some time, though.

  10. AM Guest

Thanks for the tip! Applied and approved instantly. Have a regular AS card, used me being a landlord / having a rental property as my business for this one. AS miles aren't the easiest to earn so this is great.

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

      @ AM -- Congrats!

  11. hk Guest

I've been waiting for this offer. Thanks for the news. Just applied through your link and approved (partially because the official links at boa and as websites are still showing 40k offer).

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ hk -- Thanks for the support and congrats!

  12. Alonzo Diamond

I can't recall if I've had the personal or business version of this card in the past. Any way to find out?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Alonzo -- Do you maybe still have a Bank of America log-in that shows one of the accounts? Or otherwise I'd recommend calling up Bank of America, and they should be able to look it up.

  13. Nick R Guest

Hey Ben! Are there any restrictions to this offer if you have had this product in the past?

    1. article Guest

Yes would also like to know this! Do you have to wait 24 months like the personal card?

    2. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Nick R -- The terms claim it's a one-time offer, though anecdotally that doesn't seem to consistently be enforced. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, though. Does anyone else have any insights or data points?

    3. TASSOJUNIOR Guest

Im on my 2nd ithis year. Instant spprovals. Beware the "90 day" spend rule..very strict. Do early. You get a company account and an emplyee card that takes a month to show up on the company account. Often have to message Alaska to have them get the points for you. But churnable at least with instant approvals.
