I think you’ve made a miscalculation of what United intends.

I understand the CEO has made statements that he would like to merge with Delta or AA in the past. He has also stated several times he is not interested in buying JetBlue.

Additionally, I wouldn’t equate wanting to be Americans flag carrier with a desire to take over AA or Delta.

I would actually bet that United and JetBlue are currently both operating under the assumption of a United takeover after the JetBlue fleet update and after they can discharge some of their debt.

1. it needs more that just 10 new int. routes
2. the grace and style and professionalism would have to change 180 degrees
3. cleaning up would have to take place 100%, UA style, tons of carry on Crew baggage that fills the cabin alone, run down and worn out cabin crew shoes, chewing gum while boarding a very country style thing and the need of cleaning up the town tramps that i used to see over and over at this just US culture based carrier.
EK style, . . . 1 line, perfect, graceful, proud, international . . . a carrier and it's people that are REAL global!
4. Champagne offered, that's cheap sparkling wine.
That guy Scott Kirby. It needs a guy who "leads" a carrier to get close to EK, not one who is just after headlines but has NO CONTROL over his people, that he should be an example for tofollow 1 company line!

5. UA would have to become way more customer friendly, by implementing a REAL airline scheme in terms of Transit in their hubs. Just because it is a US airline, the limits set by the own government, do these people know, how much business they are looking, because of the world's most stupidest transit system? Compared to UAE, where anybody can transit with no hassle.
Only thing these 2 might have in common, both have a crazy, ridiculous and overpriced Frequent Flyer program on their on companies planes!

I used the last of my United miles and am not flying them again. Newark, Houston, O'Hare. Emirates? Please!

Get rid of the 75 year old Granny's as FA's that would rather throw the second cup of coffee at you than serve it to you. We never look forward to Long Flights via United. Just had a wonderful Trip via Qatar DOH to SFO (Q suites) try comparing that to UA Business Class/FC! lol!
Just a side Note: The Only Drawback was letting the 90% passengers from India (mostly older people) know that it is not nice to stand there and stare at the enclosed area and see what you are eating. They go back to the FA & request if they can get the same or try telling them not to clear out the Galley's offering (mostly candies,chips,etc) and stuffing them into their pockets.
