I always find it hilarious that those top hotel chains like Rosewood, Four Seasons etc, have those programs that can be leveraged by travel advisors, and that they offer... $100 per stay, where most stays are going to be in the 5 digits lol. They should really scale that amount based on whatever property it applies to.
This absolutely gets commented on by my clients. Some are borderline insulted by it, some will make a crack that it is nice of them to cover what will basically be gratuities for a spa treatment. We frequently negotiate with hotels to get the credit increased because it is absolutely ridiculous to offer $100-$200 in credits for these ludicrously expensive stays, especially as rates continually increase.
Everything in 1850 area is like that during ski season; the Aman nearby is often more. Yeah, maybe we should do something about extreme wealth inequality around the world. Like, I’m fine with the super-rich enjoying nice things, but, like, if you’re also gonna exploit the workers and public resources while not ensuring the basics of shelter, food, education, healthcare, economic opportunities of their own… yeah, gotta be a better way. And a $5K/night is nothing compared to their mega-yachts, private jets, and real estate, etc. They clearly aren’t paying their fair share, and we’re all paying the price for their ‘excess.’
Hah yeah I bet! To be honest it is indeed borderline insulting, while hilarious at the same time. But I had no idea that amount could be negotiated with hotels though, that's very good to know!
