Blue Palace Crete, a Marriott Luxury Collection property, will become a Rosewood resort after an extensive renovation. This is bad news for Marriott loyalists, and good news for Rosewood, which is on a roll when it comes to growth.

What the hell would I want to go to a place like Crete for? I just see myself in a pot of boiling water with all those natives dancing around me.

Spent a week with my family at the Blue Palace a few years ago and it was one of the best properties I stayed in Greece. Place was stunning, hotel was amazing and we were upgraded to a fantastic 2 story room with private pool. I am glad I was able to use points there.

I just spent 2+ weeks in Greece and 1 week was in Crete. I remembered your review from 2021 & put it on my list. I loved my time in Crete. We stayed at the Minos Beach Art Hotel, also Marriott, which is just about 20 minutes south of Blue Palace. Minos Beach is a fantastic property. We got upgraded to a suite with a private pool. Drove past Blue Palace & I can attest that the eastern shore of Crete is stunningly beautiful. The moonlight evenings are plucked from a movie. By the way, your recent review of Aegean Airlines was spot on. We flew 5 business segments around Greece and each flight was a delight. Our shortest route was just barely 25 minutes in the air but they managed a snack nonetheless with a pleasant demeanor.

My partner and I spend three weeks in Europe and stayed at Blue Palace inSeptember 2023. The view and property was amazing but what really stood out was the customer service. The employees truly cared and treated you like family. They did it with a smile and it felt genuine and sincere. We went to say our goodbyes the day we left and we were all crying. We’ve kept in touch with 3 of them and my partner and I said we will never find any other hotel with customer service like that. I pray that Rosewood keeps the employees cause they are what made that place!
