As of now, the PBI airport code will remain unchanged. Many airports that have been renamed to presidents have retained their previous IATA code. IAD, IAH, LIT, etc.

So in addition to renaming the airport after him, now they want to change the airport code. (And yes, this was done in December 1963, when IDL was changed to JFK. But at least JFK was a POPULAR and BELOVED President. Unlike the current guy.)

What on earth are you on about? China and South Korea do not name their airports after people, period. Japan has exactly one airport named after a real person, but it's just for tourism PR and not the airport's official name.

I don't mind airports being named after historical figures but it should only happen after their era is over, not while they're in office. For example in my location in Europe we have laws for naming streets after people, which is only allowed X years (I don't remember the number) after their death.

I only use JFK and everything else is city I’m in. It’s too confusing. President Reagan National is National or DCA. LAX Bradley has always been TBIT and now they are trying to rebrand it as Terminal B. Huh. Keep things simple.

The actual issue, as the blog points out, is the active trademark filing and the attempt to profit from the renaming. Beyond that, some of us just don't like politicians having infrastructure named after them when they didn't build or meaningfully contribute to it. (Jimmy Carter is a good example.) I'd roll my eyes just as hard if Biden got a random airport named after him, as he likely will.
But apparently any criticism of your favorite president is a personal attack. God forbid you have the slightest bit of a personality outside of your cult.
Maybe you can show us on the doll where Donald Trump hurt you. For me, calling PBI DJT has zero, nada, zilch impact. Same if they called it JRB (Biden) Airport. I'd still call it PBI/Palm Beach if I'd ever have a need to fly in and out of.
The only airport that I know of where people actually refer to a President named after is JFK. For obvious reasons.
I don’t mind the terminal naming or airport naming as long as the person the airport is named after is dead (JFK, LGA, Harry Reid, McCain, John Wayne, Tom Bradley terminal, etc.). I don’t like seeing Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport or DJT or any other airport named after someone still alive.

He has sued this airport on multiple occasions claiming it disturbed Mar-a-Lago, his Florida home where he kept the classified documents after leaving office.
To placate him, they named the airport in his favor to stop the law suits.

- Yes, I think I added something to the discussion, by providing perspective on how many airports get named after politicians, because all politicians (from the left, center, and right) have really big egos and like hearing their name get said. And this is only airports we are talking about. Add on the the list of highways, bridges, buildings, etc. that are named after some random politician and we'd need Ben to buy more server storage.

But, I pointed that out already to you - I said that I was commenting only on other posters, who only themselves provided one or two examples of airports named after politicians. And @JoePro: Yep! Very unusual. I can't find a airport that was named after a sitting U.S. president (i.e. while he was still in office) - at least on this side of the Atlantic. But I did find it in Europe (Paris, specifically). Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) changed its name in 1966 while de Gaulle was actively serving as the President of France. I was today years old when I learned that, so thanks! I do (sincerely) have you to thank for learning about that.
I did find other U.S. politicians were in office while the airports were named after them. For examples, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport got it's name while he was still actively serving as U.S. Senator, Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport was renamed while he was actively serving as the Secretary of Transportation, Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport was renamed for the Atlanta Mayor William Hartsfield while he was still in his final months in city office, and Charlotte/Douglas International Airport added the "Douglas" part to its name while Ben Elbert Douglas Sr. was serving as the Mayor of Charlotte.

Presidents have the power to classify and declassify documents. VPs and on down the list do not.
Not ex-presidents, though. That was the whole reason the FBI raided Mar-a-lago and it should have got him jailed for the rest of his life.
Since Republicans think even constitutional amendments can be overturned by executive order (see birthright citizenship), I look forward to the next (Dem) president issuing an executive order forbidding FAA services to any airport named after a convicted felon.

Believe it or not, you left off Jimmy Cater Regional Airport, located in Sumter County, Georgia. So small, not only does it not have any commercial service, it doesn't even have an ID by the IATA (though its FAA LID is ACJ).

Presidents do not have unilateral authority to declassify documents, and even if such a thing existed he said *on tape* to aides and a memoire writer and publisher (none of whom had clearances either) that he could have declassified the particular attack plan document he was showing them, but didn't. Some quotes:
"It is like highly confidential, secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this. You attack and…"
"See, as president I could have declassified, but now I can't, you know," Trump can be heard saying. "Isn't that interesting? It's so cool."

I am curious - do so many of you actually think so much about Trump?? My colleagues, friends and family, at least, only hear about him should we turn on the news and even that for a few minutes. It seems like too many of you are giving this man free rent in your head. For reference, I live in Tokyo the majority of the year (my base) but move between 3-4 different countries every year for work.
I was thinking the same thing. In Germany and India (where I divide my time), we rarely discuss Trump during our conversations and meetings.
We have witnessed that naming can be renamed, removed, now or after they are gone.
