Amazing Chase Sapphire Lounge New York LaGuardia Now Open

Looks nice. Wonder how food will compare Vs Amex. The Boston Chase lounge has quite good food options.

Since Chase Sapphire is a US only card, how does it make sense to have a club in HKG with these access rules?

@ NateNate -- The Chase Sapphire Lounge Hong Kong has different access rules, and is open to Priority Pass members without limits (so it's not just one visit per year).

Do authorized users of the Ritz card have access or just the card holder?

@ Charlie -- Well you need a Priority Pass membership through the card, so presenting the card as such wouldn't get you in. Authorized users on the Ritz Card do get a Priority Pass membership, and could access the lounge an unlimited number of times.

Given the weather today I’d bet a lot of people will be in there for hours.

Thanks you for posting! I’m at LGA this morning after irrops last night. Was grumbling at $18 egg and cheese sandwiches when I saw your post. So I was one of the first ever visitors (even got a little gift). Lounge is spectacular!

I'm curious though how much thr opening of this lounge will alleviate crowding at the next door Centurion Lounge. How many people have both the Platinum card and the premium Sapphire card? (Outside of the readers of this blog, I'd assume not a lot of people in the common traveling public).

I’ll bet most of the users of the paid room will be youtubers looking to document it.

I can't wrap my head around caviar service at LGA hah. I also can't see who the heck is going to drop that amount of money to reserve those suites, especially if they can only be used for 3 hours...
I feel like the crowding will be absolutely insane, soooo many people in NYC have the CSR card and given the lack of exciting lounges at LGA, it will likely be extremely popular.

LGA is becoming a lounge hotspot. Centurion, Chase, and soon the C1 "concept". Also, newish airline lounges as well.

Does anyone know, for the "once-per-year" PP entry, whether that's per person or per PP membership. I'm sure plenty of us have two or more memberships which previously were of no incremental value. But if they're each good for a Chase lounge entrance. . .

The issue is that it's at LGA. I can see a real demand for this kind of experience at more premium airports.

Not sure what you mean by "premium". It's true none of the very limited transcon configurations fly from LGA (which makes those private rooms a but confusing) but LGA is now by far the nicest airport in NYC and because of its proximity to Manhattan the "value" of the passengers is probably, on average, higher than the other local airports.

Have you been to LGA lately, especially the new terminal B? Compared with the old terminal, the words "night and day" are a massive understatement. "Heaven and hell" would be more apt. LGA has truly become a world-class airport, to everyone's surprise.

How long until the larger Premium Rooms are converted into additional seating space for the main lounge?

I may switch a flight booking from Delta to American or JetBlue just to check this out.

In general, it is impressive that Chase has made more progress on these lounges than Capital One, despite Capital One having a head start. As more lounges get built, CSR gains more of an advantage over CSP...

Ben are you sure that's correct? I have both the JP Morgan Reserve and the Ritz Carlton cards. The team at Chase thinks you just show the card. Also minor point but the website says RC cardmember can bring unlimited guests.

I just checked and the Chase site says you had to have activated your PP membership which presumably means you need to be able to show your card or membership in the app. But RC cardholders aren't limited to two guests.

I feel like there is demand, but not at that price point. At a significantly lower price point... maybe even $1K and the ability to stay longer than three hours, this could be great for a fly-in meeting.

I was very interested in the private room until you mentioned prices. $2200 for 3 hours in the small room seems excessive. I'm not sure how many people will fill it. Them again I am definitely not the target market.

Doubtful although I'm sure some youtubers will do it for clicks. More than likely it will be used by celebs who large companies are flying in for corporate events.

It sounds excessive, but I see two types of people filling it: Minor-mid celebrities with their entourages who have money but not enough to fly private, and those who like to flash money around but again not enough to fly private. I imagine the target market for the second group will be a combination of executives who want a place to retreat to in the airport before they fly for an important meeting and those who are the target market for bottle service at posh NYC nightclubs and are already dropping $2k+ on a table of 6 there.

The one thing I would have changed in the design is soundproof windows that overlook the first floor, with thick curtains that can close. Would have made it more desirable for that bottle service crowd (many want to be seen) while still keeping it private for the other groups.

I bet Chase really wanted something like this at JFK - with longer flights and int'l flights, there are more people who'd be willing to pay for this and they could probably add another 30-50% to the going rate.
