As an expat who’s lived in Indonesia, and continues to frequent the country, I would say that lounge and terminal are what seems to be something common in the country. Facilities that are poorly maintained. It’s sad really. The terminal, the lounge, and the airline were really world class a few years ago.
I was in the Garuda lounge in dps last month and it was abysmal! The lounge review from Jakarta looks like luxury compared to it!
Although I think the shower stall in Jakarta is on par with the showers in the Qantas first class lounge in lax that always seems to receive 5 star reviews 🙂
The Garuda lounges look like they belong in terminal 5 at ohare.
This is also the lounge given by Qatar Airways.
One of the worse lounge by a margin. Plaza Premium is by far better but on the other side of the airport (Malaysia Airlines is giving Plaza Premium).
I’ve only flown Garuda biz once (last month from dps to syd) but I did appreciate lovely service. Lots of smiles and topping up of drinks etc. seat was alright and the product was tired but enthusiastic friendly attendants were a big positive.
So some Oneworld airlines use the Garuda lounge but others don't? How odd! I flew CX in 2020 from CGK and used Plaza Premium.
I was just here as well and thinking both 'ends' of the lounge were a little odd. One end was as Lucky photo'd it. The other end had an open door when I was there and led straight to a roped off dining area - I believe part of the First lounge?
Amusingly enough, I was flying China Airlines and they give a a choice of access to either Plaza Premium or the Garuda lounge.
Be fair now, Delta has a really good lounge now in T5 at O’hare. Hopefully the new terminal/expansions will lead to more and better lounges as well.

I thought DL had a great lounge when they were in T2 back in the day as well.
Every GA business lounge at CGK has been sub-standard to unacceptable, and has been for decades. Sweeping generalization, yes, but 100% true.
The SkyClub at ORD T5 is very comfortable , quite new and far superior to what they offered in t2 or most other airlines currently offer in t5
While I agree to most of what's written here, I've had plenty of beer in that lounge. You just have to ask. They mat have wine too.
Having lived in Indonesia for a few years and travelled there extensively, none of this is at all surprising. Sad. But not surprising.
Totally agree - this lounge is appalling - we had the displeasure of using it as it’s QATAR airways lounge that they use for business class - don’t hotter

I was in Jakarta December 2023. Loved the area, planning on going back, this time to visit the Senarang area. In order to do so, I have to fly Garuda Airlines. Thank You for giving me a heads up on what to expect.
