New Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse LAX: Stylish But Small

Considering the Delta One Lounge is not very far away, which lounge would you rather visit if you're flying VS?

I came to this lounge, naturally, to naturally lounge and now you’re telling me I can’t lounge in the lounge? Tyranny! 😛

Once again, I am extremely disappointed to see that Virgin is allowed to skirt basic SkyTeam access rules. A STE+ flyer with Flying Blue wouldn't be allowed to enter the VS lounge if they are flying non-VS/DL internationally, but a VS STE+ flyer would be allowed to enter the AF lounge in the same building.

And at the same time, SkyTeam is trying to expand domestic lounge access. Make it make sense.

Will inbound VS passengers be able to use this? Connecting onto Delta w/ a separate ticket, also have VS Gold status.

It would be nice to use this as arriving into TBIT, the D1 lounge is a long walk

Based on the new access rules as of April 1st, would Delta Gold/Plat/Diamond elites be able to access the lounge when traveling domestically? The way the rules are phrased on the Virgin website is "SkyTeam Elite Plus members traveling on Virgin Atlantic or Delta + a guest traveling on an international flight operated by a SkyTeam carrier"

It's just crazy that Delta elites in economy can get in this lounge but the same Delta elites flying economy can't get into the Sky Club.

Better free wine at the Virgin Atlantic lounge.

One small correction - I believe Virgin Australia gold and platinum flyers also get access.

Can inbound VS UC passengers (I'm also Gold/STE+) access the Delta One lounge when connecting to a domestic DL flight? I didn't think so.

Skyteam never makes sense

Am I crazy, or did VS previously have a lounge at LAX many moons ago? I vaguely remember flying VA to Sydney from LAX, maybe a decade ago, and getting access to a VS Clubhouse in LAX.

Table Service for Priority Pass types seems far too fancy, so I’d be surprised if they open the lounge outside VS flight hours.

VS has 3 daily flights during the summer at 1530, 2005 and 2120 changing to 2250, so assume the Lounge is open from 1130 -2250

VS had one in Terminal 2 which closed about 4 years ago. It was formerly a second Delta Skyclub, having previously been a NW Club and then an AF Lounge.

I believe DL must have closed that Lounge in T2 once their new one opened.

VA elites only have access when flying on Virgin Atlantic flights, I believe.

They run them with a much reduced F&B offer in Priority Pass hours

They can, the difference here is that your Gold/STE+ doesn't matter for D1 lounge access, as it's not a status lounge unless you're Delta 360.

Surely Delta has premium wine in their lounges?

Kinda sucks that SkyTeam passengers in first and business class on other airlines besides Delta can't access the lounge...but then, given the small size, they could be trying to avoid it getting too crowded.

Why can't a ST EP flying AF or KLM or any other ST airline access the lounge?

I actually think its a mistake in the original press release and Ben deleted the wrong part, but I also could be wrong.

The original line in the press release was:

"SkyTeam Elite Plus members traveling on Virgin Atlantic or Delta + one guest traveling on an international flight operated by a SkyTeam carrier"

It should be the first "traveling..." deleted so it reads:

"SkyTeam Elite Plus members ... + one guest traveling on an international flight operated by a SkyTeam carrier"

That would match ST policy, which is "SkyTeam Elite Plus members can invite one guest in the lounge. who must be travelling on the same SkyTeam member operated flight".

Same is true with Air Canada lounges and United.

If you had to choose one, would you go to the Virgin Atlantic Lounge or the Delta One and why? Thanks!

Capacity controls. This lounge is tiny in size.

At LAX, AF/KLM passengers already have their own lounge and the SkyClubs for status access. And then the D1 lounge for business class. That's more than enough.

VS is prioritizing its own passengers, which makes sense.

If you're flying Virgin, use the Virgin lounge. It's that simple.

Does anyone know if you need to schedule a time/slot for the shower suites in advance or are they just FC/FS

LAX wasn’t busy that day. Especially tom Bradley on Mother’s Day. But the clubhouse didn’t even accept priority pass already. They just opened so I thought to check it out but already no use for priority pass holders
