I'd prefer if Aeroplan FIX their existing partnerships (e.g. Oman Air, Etihad) rather than add new ones
What a comically laughable redemption rate for FlyDubai flights. This is more of a "look at how many partners we have move" from Aeroplan, then an actual redemption opportunity for its members. I can't imagine anyone foolish enough to use 65k points for a regional flight to Bahrain in FlyDubai's J product, whichever on you may get that day.
Wow, another partner. Can't wait to have limited to no availability, "IT issues", or super insane redemption rates for a B-tier airline.

You hit the nail on the head. Typical Aeroplan bait and switch, or nonsensical strategy to collect partners with no real value for redemptions by program members.
"Look, we added this shiny new thing. It may not be available 98% of the time, or it may not make sense to go for it at all...BUT, if you look over here, we have this other old and busted thing called Air Canada--and if you're lucky, and are willing to spend 400,000 points, we may be able to fly you on a red-eye from middle of no-where USA to Saskatchewan...on a Tuesday...in lowest economy class...no seat selection...we might have water...but we will definitely be late with our departure!"
