Ben maybe you could comment explicitly on how your RJ status performed at Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge after you matched. It's implicit in the post but a sentence confirming it met expectations would be welcome.

@ DenB -- Sorry, should've added that. It has performed exactly as planned, I've had no issues accessing Flagship Lounges even when my RJ number isn't on the reservation. 🙂

I recognize you don't literally need to travel through Amman to take advantage of this and use the benefits of such status on partner airlines, but, yeesh, what a time to be gaining status with a ME carrier...

How were you able to bypass the residency requirements, since USA isn't included? With your German passport?

If you read the article closely, Ben explains that this offer was previously available to (but then quickly pulled from) US residents, and that is when he took advantage of it.

I also took advantage when this was briefly available to US passport holders.

I’m already so sad that it expires less than 7 months from now. Since matching, I’ve shifted all my domestic flying to AA and the flagship lounges have become my home away from home.

Question is still relevant. As an EU passport holder who lives in the US, I’d also be curious if just a passport is enough

Can't say for sure, but the main potential issues would be having a US address on your RJ account or your EU passport's front page referencing a US address of residence or emission (i.e. having your passport issued at a German consulate/embassy in the US). If neither of these apply to you, RJ will most likely accept the status match.

That being said, it could be the case that if you pay with a US credit card they might be wary of it, but in my opinion highly unlikely.

Strangely, they require both the given and surname to be at least 3 characters. How is this supposed to work for people with two-letter surnames like me?
