You can fly Latam from Santiago to Mexico City in Business class one way for 30000 Lufthansa miles.

Alaska seems to have problems with awards to Australia.

How so? Not the same inventory as other programs (Skypesos) or errors ticketing?

Just as an aside, Latam and Qantas also have redemption options, as well,

Delta is good for intra-South America flights in Y. SCL - GRU 15.900, GRU - MAO 15.900.

AS MileagePlan continues to cling to its xenophobic ways regarding LATAM in not making awards on direct flights to New Zealand and Australia. Maybe the Alaska MP person/people who strike deals with its partner airlines could do a bit of work on this. MP badly needs a few 'enhancements' in its transpac inventory.
It took them so long to break with their policy of awards only
to/from/within/through the US (as a consequence of joining OW) but it remains a half-baked effort.

I'll say two things... British Avios is always the best for lap infant award tickets and I find a ton of availability through Mexico City to Santiago if you're willing to do a positioning flight.

Any chance of a revision now that Alaska is out? And looked at Qatar and they seemed out as well trying to search award flights.

Also, any suggestions out of LAX. Doing the Delta search for LAX-LIM showed zero J availability over the next year other than two or three days this December. Is that route just un-award-able?

Having a heck of a time trying to find space with points (Chase/CapOne) using any partner other than Delta for December 2026 MIA-SCL. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An awesome option is Finnair Avios on LATAM – just spent 75,500 Avios for MIA-EZE.
