I’m aware of the one true China, the Republic of China, also known as Taiwan, a free, independent, sovereign country filled with wonderful, prosperous, people, our allies, too.
Those imposters on the continent, known as ‘West Taiwan’… nope. All I see is Winnie the Pooh. ‘Oh, duh duh dear…’
Is „Spring airlines“ affiliated to British low cost carrier „our lady air“ or did they just copy the uniform?
So I am guessing there are no 'air uncle' opportunities?

Hmm. After decades of "One child " policy, I imagine female workforce in China is in high demand. This is the only one area that India surpasses China--overpopulation. Mainland Chinese males have to find wives in Taiwan and HK. Vietnam now has problem with female abduction near China border for matrimony and prostitution industry. Why should there be any backlash over this policy? They should be refrained from being too sensitive about identity politics. As long as it provides employment opportunities with balanced lifestyle for people of different genders and social classes, get over it.
If Asian airlines must hire flight attendants as eye candy, the least they can do is think of the gays and make 10% of them male and absurdly goodlooking. But NOOOO.... The Airline Executive Patriarchy clings to the fantasy that men all want the same thing, which has not been my experience.

I think that since this airline is based in Shanghai, it’s considered a mainland-based communist airline.
Or they can hire a world famous Thai lady boys, and fill all gender quotas at once.
You don’t want those. The popular thing in China is to get a knife and go on the stabbing spree.
Maybe the translation of 'auntie' into English is different to what we think.
When starting to read this article I was imagining someone 50 years and up! If I were a mid-twenties female, I wouldn't like to be thought of as an auntie.
Then of course, at the legacy US airlines you have the bona-fide flying grannies!
Fly China Air. The flight attendants were all very attractive and the male ones (IIRC our flight has two) seemed very likely gay to me.
Auntie/Uncle is a term of respect in many Asian countries. I think it sounds like a nice idea to have some moms onboard - I'm sure they do have more life experience than a single 18-25 year old. I also think airlines should just hire in the first place more on talent and personality fit for the job than looks or being a certain age. Just my $0.02.
I think that AA and UA can over proof that crew with many, many, many, many years of "lived experience" does not necessarily translate into empathy...

Agree they did it for the PR. It won't change the experience. Its a discount / low cost carrier and by the time you are finished it isn't much cheaper than regular airlines if at all.
