Not sure if I'm a fan of the multiple color schemes used in the rooms... I need a hotel for 2 nights in FRA Q1 next year. May just book the Hilton as I have Diamond status, free breakfast and its a good central location. 'The Florentin' looks amazing but the room rates will likely be eye watering high.
I booked this property for two nights last week, using Chase free night certificate my husband and I received from having the now discontinued IHG credit card.
Yeah, that color scheme is a choice. Not even remotely close to the interior decor of Kimpton Monaco DC or Kimpton Shinjuku, which are the only ones in the brand I've had the pleasure of staying at so far. Kimpton Monaco DC actually really surprised me, I'm used to hotel restaurants in the states ranging from garbage to average, but the slow cooked pulled pork omelette they served me for breakfast was by far one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had, period. If Frankfurt follows suit in the food department, I'm sure they'll be fine even if the decor looks like a preschool play room.
The bars and restaurant look lovely- the F&B options and the "public spaces" are one of my favorite things about Kimpton.
@Paul - I finally gave up on Hilton. Learned the entire buildings HVAC is controlled by mgmt, and the heat stays on until “summer season”. So if you’re like me who likes a cold room at night, I highly rcmd staying away.
Which brings me to this new Kimpton. I’ll have to call and ask if the air is controlled by the building or is each individual room have full control of temps.
On my last Frankfurt stay, leaving the Hilton in a room that was at least 90F, I called at least 6 other major chain hotels who all confirmed the bldg controls the room temps. The only one I found that doesn’t - Westin! Which explains why I found so many flight crews staying there.
Now all future stays will be at Westin-Frankfurt. No matter the cost. Period.
Love the Kimpton brand !
Any clue if they will stock Atelier Bloem toiletries ? Been obsessed with the shampoo and conditioner they have in Taipei and would love to see them sold in Europe.
