Exactly. And this real housewives franchise scrapes the bottom of the barrel with groups of vacuous people who talk about absolutely nothing. I decided to try and watch an episode once. Money definitely doesn’t bring class.
Different people have different reactions to events, and this woman was clearly very traumatized and freaked out by Wlliams. Just because Williams appeared tobe calm and has managed to influence the other passengers, doesnt mean Williams is being truthful in her re-telling of what happened. Just because the other passenger is emotionally activated and over-exaggerated a couple of details, does not mean she is lying or that she is in the wrong. Once asked, regardless of how nicely, Williams should have apologized and silenced her videos, instead of turning one irate comment into a massive to-do. And the fact that Williams was the one who got to keep her seat after bring so ugly shows that Williams already received clear bias in her favor.
Agreed. And the fact that Williams got to keep her seat while the other person was forced to move and was even manhandled by other passengers? Just adds insult to injury! 🙁

@Kit Yes. Williams was wrong by watching IG on her phone without headphones but you left out that fact that two witnesses backed her claim so you have to put some weight on that. And yes, she also should have apologized at the start of the incident but then again like Ben said when the other woman had to be physically put in another seat by cabin crew decision is really something.
How long before cameras in the cabins? Bodycams on attendants?
You could have incident cameras that only hard save when activated (plus a period before that)

Not even close. In 2024, the US averaged fewer than 6 “unruly passenger” incidents per day.

To recap: Williams’ version was corroborated by two unrelated witnesses, the other woman was the one who had to be physically moved to another seat, and the other woman comes across as unhinged and makes wildly implausible accusations… and you conclude we should believe the other woman and everyone was biased in Williams’ favor. Okay, then.
As someone who came into this thread completely biased against any “real housewife,” even I can’t make sense of your position.

I am one of your more vehement supporters whenever people blame you of clickbaiting, and an a firm believer in the “it’s your blog” argument.
That being said - in this story I think you may have crossed the line.
I think that with an eye to better monetise your blog, a good start would be to better understand your readership. Most people interested in this sort of articles get them elsewhere.

the times of your first TV appearance. The whole site is becoming very clickbaity and I struggle to believe you genuinely do not want to and have to do it for SEO and other index reasons. Just provide a more intermittent but quality airline journalism and that's it. No credit cards on repeat, wow title intros, husband is a travel agent (sponsored) content and trashy clickbait. Just real, well done and genuine airline, airport and hotel content, that's it!
@ Mike -- I hear you, and I appreciate the feedback. To be honest, this is something I found genuinely interesting, mainly because I did used to watch RHOA back in the day. So perhaps it was more a personal interest thing than anything else.

That's not to say that I get everything right and always strike the right balance -- I absolutely don't -- but this is like telling Costco "hey, do exactly what you're doing, but don't have a membership fee."
Credit card referrals, travel agent referrals, etc., are what pays the bills. Do you have another path you'd recommend going down, because "intermittent but quality airline journalism" won't pay the bills in 2025, with how the internet works?
I think what they're getting at is you have an established brand and reputation for quality that your readers expect you to uphold.
For example, would you expect the Associated Press or NYT to cover TMZ-style celebrity paparazzi content? Probably not.
The same applies here. People are asking you to not go down the same path as Gary, who has since diluted his brand and pumps out extremely low effort content aka this TMZ content coupled with farming social media content from Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, and X. Maybe that does well for SEO and ad revenue, but you're alienating your original core audience.
And that's a decision you'll have to make as a content creator. There's nothing immoral or wrong with clickbait content to farm engagement. But that will lead to attrition and invite a very different crowd.
I would have to agree with Ben here. You are only giving critique and what you want but you’re not providing Ben with any solution on how he can make money and provide for his family. I think Ben has already struck a good balance with this blog. He is a blogger not a journalist. Unless you think it is a good idea that Ben starts charging readers a subscription fee. He can do it like the airlines with basic subscription fee, standard subscription fee, and premium subscription fee.

It annoys the hell out of me that I have to endure these idiots who think that the entire world has to listen to their phone conversations or listen to their videos and music. Put on damned earphones. I sit at the gate listening to all of this crap. Once, I heard a person discussing what was sensitive information about their employer and some contract work this person was doing. Numerous times the loudmouth would say, "Well, this isn't for public knowledge but...." and then mentioned the company name! So, I stepped aside, took a photo of the woman from a distance and sent an anonymous letter (don't want retribution") to the CEO of the company along with a transcript of what I heard. Hopefully, the woman was fired!

In defense of the site - this kind of behavior is pertinent to regular travelers. Entitlement lack of shared values from a small but bothersome portion of the traveling population have a direct impact on quality of life for people. There's a lot more 'clickbait' material that isn't covered here - videos from Spirit airline that might lead one down a path of judgmental bias towards whole communities.

My initial biased thought upon reading the headline was that the reality TV star was probably being entitled and rude. When you watch the police body cam it is OBVIOUS that was not the case. This "Karen" was rude and obnoxious to the police officer! How can we not believe she acted that way to Williams? The other 2 passengers who witnessed the confrontation were unsolicited and adamant that Williams was the victim. The woman presented as an entitled, arrogant, bitchy Karen. I can't be insider her head but it seemed she thought she would put the black lady and the black police officer in their place. Knowingly making false accusations to a police officer is a crime - and I hope this woman is charged. Williams was certainly showing poor etiquette with her phone and should have known better - but this stuff happens all the time and gets sorted out quickly and easily.
Williams behavior playing her phone at full blast is unacceptable! Where was the crew in all of this? If they had to physically move this passenger I'm surprised they did not divert the flight. Was this passenger observed for the remainder of the flight to ensure no more incidents? Something does not add up here.
So much filler ( in the brain too perhaps) in some people one may be surprised the Hazmat squad wasn’t called out upon landing
I’m a FA and we do not allow pax to listen to anything without headphones even young children so this is a delta problem that should have been rectified from the very beginning and if the pax started a issue she wouldn’t be flying on our airline to her destination.
