Thank you, Ben, for posting on that Aman/Janu/Sackler family dispute in Turks & Caicos, and, specifically, for including the Sackler family's involvement there. Personally, I've been to Amanyara, and really did enjoy the stay there (just a quick flight from MIA/FLL, after all), but some of this backstory is a bit off-putting; like, I realize they're currently closed for about 2 months for renovations until this October (and, it is also hurricane season, but usually they're open, regardless), but I'm not necessarily racing to go back.

Hey Ben!

I have shared on my Flyertalk page but also wanted to let you know that Korean Air is transitioning its in-flight Wi-Fi to be completely free of charge.

Regardless of seat class, and status all will be able to use free Wi-Fi.

As you know KE is introducing Starlink on its fleet and the free Wi-Fi offering is currently conducting final inspections with the goal of introducing the service early next month, and plans to expand the applicable aircraft sequentially.

There is a news in Korean but you can change the audio below if able. 😀

@degold Thank you very much for the heads up! I wrote about Korean Air's Starlink plans in late 2025:

So I guess the update is that installation is actually starting soon? It sounds like wide body planes are expected to get the service first?

@lucky Currently, it looks like the installation has already began with and first aircraft first service sometime next month (I guess mid-September).

Different topic altogether. Today I heard that AF is flying back to DXB as one of the first European airlines. What do you think of this? Will the others follow soon, or does EK still have a firm grip on not losing too much market share to other airlines wanting to fly to DXB since the war?
