In 2017, EL AL and Qantas launched a partnership, allowing reciprocal mileage redemptions. This really came in handy, given how few airline partners EL AL has. American AAdvantage used to partner with EL AL, though that ended in 2014.

@Lucky How much do they charge for JFK-TLV-BKK, especially the BKK leg.
I've always wanted to try TLV-BKK around Arab airspace. That looks fun, few extra hours for the same route. Do they award/charge miles based on actual flown or just a straight line.
Lucky - would you recommend transferring Citi points to Qantas even if you would not travel until Sep 2020? Just trying to gauge risk - presume this would be booking around December this year...
An absolute surprise: Qantas' fees are only $28.20 for the Newark - Tel Aviv redemption. Makes this amazing value, especially when compared to NYC to Europe with BA - 65k Qantas points + $800.
FYI - I and a friend booked EL AL reward tickets with QF. The flight was oversold in premium cabins. We got downgraded to Economy. We were on separate bookings but both via QF points, so it seems they targeted us over other pax. 6 months later and I'm still chasing up compensation...
So i booked a TLV -(elal)ATH(emirates)-ewr, on qantas points..will they let me check through. ?
@ a -- You can also use Qantas points for it, though at this point very few planes have first class, as EL AL retires their 747s, leaving just the 777s with first class (and those planes are also eventually being reconfigured, as far as I know).
Ben do you have to call to book El Al first class awards? ExpertFlyer shows tons of award availability for JFK-TLV flights but they don't appear as an option on QF website.
