IHG has some flaws that caused me to basically give up on their program/hotels:
- They devalued their program so much that they had to move from a 1x credit card to a 3x credit card, while having almost not meaningful promotions to earn points staying at their hotels
- They moved award nights to revenue based pricing, but didn't improve availability, so not only does the hotel price ridiculously, they extremely limit availability. At least with other programs, while award prices can get high, you can still book any standard room
- Most of their properties are uninspiring
