Some people make the daily commute between Shenzhen and HK. This is a good amenity for CX frequent fliers based in Shenzhen. I don’t see a lot of westerners using this lounge ; even if it were pre pandemic.

“Greater Bay Area:” literally no uses this term aside from the CCP. Pure marketing from Beijing as they try to absorb HK into the mainland. Hopefully the blog isn’t going to start referring to Taiwan as Chinese Taipei!

Very true! Wanted to correct you though and advise it is the CPC - Communist Party of China, not the CCP.

For all the investments HK/CX have made into Skypier.... they don't even operate daily ferry services between Macau and HKG? Bizarre

I have used the Shekou Ferry from Shenzhen to HKIA many times.... But beware that cut off times for checkin for you flight is minimum 3 hrs before flight. And they are super strict because of baggage transfer and security procedures.
I have found the ferry to be the most convenient vs going through HK Immigration at border crossing that are always very crowded.

This is in preparation for Cathay Pacific’s impending integration into Shenzhen Airlines. (Shenzhen Airlines is also partially owned by Air China.)
