You can actually "hold" United itineraries for free til midnight the following night without any discounts applied. Just click the "Ticket By Phone" link instead of putting a credit card in on the payment page and your reservation will be saved until midnight the following night with a confirmation code and you can either complete the purchase by phone or online. I don't think this option is available within 7 days though.
Good point Kevin. So this is really a hidden but redundant feature of the VA code....
United made a typo. The last screenshot gives the non-discounted price in "economy" class, but this is a business class ticket. Nice post, Travis!

Kind of makes you wonder if they didn't expect the VA discount to be used on premium cabins.....
Veterans advantage also includes emergency evacuation insurance; would be interested to hear if anyone usedit. Also I have gotten very good car rental rates using their links for members.
I also use it regularly at CVS. You can print out a 20% discount coupon any time and take it to CVS. You can also use it online, and then it stacks with other sales or free shipping offers.
