"You’ll need to create a Resy account on resy.com or on the Resy app, and book a reservation there."

This is not true - you do not need to have a Resy account or make a reservation on Resy to earn the $20 off at Resy restaurants. I do not have a Resy account and frequently use it for take out orders (no reservations required)

Resy credit dispensed $20 per month is a hassle. It was intentionally designed for breakage.

I agree. In my experience, in order to receive the Resy credits, all you need to do is pay at the restaurant that uses the Resy system. I have also split the bills between my Delta Platinum & Delta Reserve Amex frequently and always get the statement credits. It does not require a reservation either. I have done walk-in and pick-up at multiple Resy restaurants and have always received the appropriate Resy credits. I try to use the credits each month.

A rewards structure similar to the Citi AA Executive would make it attractive and drive revenue to its hotel/rental car portal. Otherwise, it's a perks-only kind of card.

I'd like to hear thoughts on the "companion certificate"---I've not had the type of uses that I wish. And I'm fortunate to have a very flexible schedule

If you’re going for Delta platinum status or higher then yes this card is definitely worth it!
Mainly for the MQD Headstart

I've found it to be pretty useful now that it covers the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii. Free $550 ticket for the +1 to Cancun, and next year a free ticket to Hawaii. That alone can easily cover the annual fee of the card.
