Well this is quite a plot twist…
The person arrested for airport dine and dash…
On August 31, 2022, someone named Hend Bustami was arrested at Las Vegas Airport (LAS). According to reports, police had been called after the 28-year-old ate at an airport Chili’s but then left without paying her bill.
While she had left the restaurant by the time that the police arrived, TSA agents later found someone matching her description sleeping near the security checkpoint. Officers were once again called, and found Bustami in the baggage claim area.
When confronted by police, she was “belligerent with officers, saying she was being harassed because cops had never seen anyone as pretty as her.” While she was being arrested, she continued to say “that she was going to spit on all the officers and that officers were perverts and were trying to rape her because they had never seen anyone as good looking.”
It was discovered that Bustami had a warrant out of Las Vegas Municipal Court, and she was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. While she made headlines at the time, I didn’t write about it, since it seems that this person might just have some mental health issues. Well, unfortunately there’s now another layer to this story.
…is now being arrested for murdering mother
Just a few weeks later, Hend Bustami is once again making headlines. At 2:34AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) received a call stating that someone was injured inside a residence.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers located an unresponsive person suffering from multiple lacerations. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to an investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section, the victim was involved in a verbal dispute with her daughter, Hend Bustami. Yes, the same person involved in the airport dine and dash.
Bustami was located by the California Highway Patrol near Barstow, California, and is being charged with open murder, and is being extradited back to Clark County.
Bottom line
What a tragic story. The same person who was in the news for an airport Chili’s dine and dish is now in the news a few weeks later for allegedly killing her mother. Obviously this person has some serious mental issues that need to be addressed, but hopefully she stays locked up for a long time so she can’t hurt others.
