which airline club to join? what is the best strategy?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I do 3 to 5 times of business travel from Chicago to China/HongKong every year. I am currently a global services member of United mileage plus club (2015). My company used to pay for business class seating. However, starting 2016, my company will only pay for the cheapest coach seating. I was considerring swtiching to American airline because the miles earned is not fee based, but they just announced to switch over to fee based now, same as United. I normally redeem my miles for family vacation to Singapore (from Chicago) or the US domestic travel (like hawaii). Which airline miles do you think I should be flying with and earn miles now?

    Thanks,

400, you’d have to run the numbers to see where you’d come out with both programs depending on how much seats cost during your usual travel times. AA has not included a revenue requriement for its program so that may be a plus for you since you’ll be traveling on cheap fares. The other advantage would be that if you hit EP on AA, the upgrade instruments you earn tend to be easier to use.
