    Hi Lucky,

    I received a postcard in the mail from United offering me the opportunity to purchase entry level MileagePlus status (Premier Silver) for $420. I was wondering if this purchase would trigger the Amex Platinum Airline Fee Reimbursement? Thanks!

    Hi Craig – I can’t say for certain but I would doubt it would trigger automatically. That credit is supposed to be for things like baggage fees and taxes/fees on award tickets that typically don’t cost that much. If you wanted to challenge it with Amex you *might* win but I would guess not.
