Purchasing Upgrade Advice

Purchasing Upgrade Advice

  1. Anonymous Guest

What are your thoughts on purchasing upgrade advice from an individual and then having that individual sponsor an upgrade for you? What’s the worst that can happen? You lose the money spent on the advice or have the airline cancel the reservation?

John Smith–I’m not sure what you mean by “purchasing upgrade advice” and “sponsor an upgrade”? Are you discussing using someone else’s SWU or the equivalent?

It is against most program rules to sell or barter upgrade instruments, benefits, or miles. As a practical matter I don’t know how they would find out what happens between two private individuals but you do a run some level of risk which may grow into a significant amount of risk if your trading partner does this on a regular basis.
