Foreign transaction fees on BA tickets from US

Foreign transaction fees on BA tickets from US

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi,

I heard there is a foreign transaction fees charged if you buy tickets directly from the BA USA site.
Is there a credit card(not the paid ones) that is good for that purchase?
If booked from a travel site, we loose the flexibility of online upgrades, change the schedule based on the travel plans etc

    Thanks

I’m not seeing any evidence of this and have not heard of this before. I tried booking a dummy trip and it didn’t show any surcharges.

    There is this disclaimer:

    “Payment and fees

You will be billed in the currency your fare is quoted in.

Your bank and card issuer may apply foreign transaction fees for transactions in other currencies.

Selecting ‘Agree and pay now’ will confirm your purchase and charge your card.”
If you are using a US based card and paying in USD you should not get charged an FX fees.

In general if you want to find a no-fx fee card, you could look at:
