Connection at O-Hare

Connection at O-Hare

I am flying United from SFO to SYR (Syracuse, NY) with a 40-minute connection in O’hare.

Will this be enough time to catch the connecting flight? Unfortunately I have to check bags, what are the chances my luggage won’t make it?

Does anyone have experience with quick layovers at O’hare?

A lot depends on your inbound flight. If it’s on time you’ll probably be ok.

On Tuesday at ORD my inbound flight didn’t land until almost 1800 and my connection was scheduled to depart at 1825 which meant I had to be on board at 1815. But I lucked out because the captain on my connecting flight had just come in from Mexico and was delayed in Customs so my 2nd flight was pushed back 20 mins. I had time to change concourses and still arrived before boarding began. I was thrilled to see my bag made it too.

The later in the day you fly, the greater the chance for delays – and sometimes that can work in your favor.
