Off to Asia on Monday!

As I posted about a while back, I’m off to Asia on Monday with a friend. I’ll do my best to keep current (although I do try to stay somewhat “disconnected” when traveling, just to preserve the little sanity I have left). You can expect a trip report with plenty of pictures.

I’m flying TPA-ORD-NRT-HKG-SIN-DPS-SIN-PVG-YYZ-ORD-TPA with Ted (TPA-ORD-TPA), ANA (ORD-NRT-HKG), Singapore Airlines (HKG-SIN-DPS, DPS-SIN-PVG), and Air Canada (PVG-YYZ-ORD). The only new product for me will be Air Canada’s new ExecutiveFirst product, which I’m quite excited about since I’m a big fan of Air New Zealand BusinessPremier and it looks like a similar seat design. That being said, NH and SQ never get old, they’re both fantastic airlines.

I’ll also be reporting on the following hotels:

InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong (one night)
Holiday Inn Macau (one night)
Conrad Hong Kong (one night)
InterContinental Bali (two nights)
Renaissance Chicago O’Hare Suites (one night)

Most of the stays are on points, with some kind of discount, or using a free night certificate, or else I’d be “slumming it” at cheaper hotels throughout.

While the weather doesn’t look great in Hong Kong, I’m excited!

Bon Voyage! I'll miss your daily reports but understand that everyone deserves to vacation uninterrupted. Is this early planning for a MEGA inflight International DO? ;)

Spectacular routing, I've been on AC's suite (yyz-hkg)and generally enjoyed it, anytime I can lie-flat on a plane is good news, as I find sleeping to be easier. Be warned though the IFE system is very buggy. Needs resets pretty regularly, i've taken to cramming my iPod Touch up with various shows, and movies to fill the time. I was also on SQ's biz last fall (sfo-sin via hkg) and absolutely loved it although the...
