Minimum Connection Time coming from AUH Pre-clearance should use Domestic MCT?

Minimum Connection Time coming from AUH Pre-clearance should use Domestic MCT?

  1. Anonymous Guest

Trying to book AUH-SFO-PDX with AUH-SFO on EY and SFO-PDX on AS with Aadvantage miles. AA agents look at their computer and insist a minimum connection time of 2 hours in SFO. Mine is 1 hour 35 mins. I tell them that since AUH has pre-clearance, they should look under Domestic-Domestic MCT not International-Domestic. Agent said the computer does not show AUH or Etihad as having pre-clearance and the agent herself was not aware of AUH having pre-clearance (She even said she doesn’t even know what country AUH is in!).

So what is the rule here and how do I get the agents or the AA computer to realize that AUH should be treated like any other domestic airport for the purposes of this segment since they have pre-clearance? Has this ever happened to you on your many Etihad flights?
