Le Club is one of the more… unique hotel loyalty programs. There seem to be links out there constantly for free Platinum status. The only catch is that Platinum status isn’t really worth anything. Free internet? Nope. Free breakfast? What’s that? Lounge access? Foggetaboutit! A room upgrade? Only if you’re staying at a Sofitel (because who needs a room upgrade at any of their other brands anyway?).
But per this FlyerTalk thread, it appears as if they’ll be sprucing up elite benefits as of October 10, 2013. It looks like the new elite benefits chart will look as follows:
The major improvements here are as follows:
- Silver, Gold, and Platinum members will receive free internet
- Silver, Gold, and Platinum members will receive late check-out upon request and availability (we’ll see how that’s actually executed)
- Gold and Platinum members will receive early check-in upon request and availability (we’ll see how that’s actually executed)
- Platinum members will now receive lounge access “if existing”
Anyway, since this is Accor the execution remains to be seen, though free internet for all elites, late check-out/early check-in for most elites, and lounge access for Platinum elites seems like a really nice improvement.
And if anyone is new to Accor, here’s a link that will get you Platinum status upon signing up.
@ Eric -- The other doesn't seem to be "live" anymore unfortunately.
same here just apply and its show classic, help please?
seems accor advantage plus(australia) knows nothing about lounge access to executive lounge for platinum members, and the hotels that I rang including melbourne pullman and sofitel stated that this benefit was NOT included as part of their hotels policy. I rang le club ,who advised that it was,,,so clarification is needed here.
My new account also shows up "Classic." Any idea as to why?
I stayed at an (Accor) Novotel in Toulouse a week ago and received free Internet and an upgrade to a small suite. The Internet speed was reasonable; I wasn't offered an upsell. I'd signed up for free Platinum several months ago; don't know whether I just got lucky or whether they've started rolling out the new benefits already.
I also asked for 30-minute-late checkout and got that, but I can usually get that almost...

The Novotel Toulouse Centre Wilson is in a great location and is quite modern; it was perfect for our stay.
One of the hidden benefits is that Club Carlson will match up to Gold for Accor status ... few others will. You just have email them with your status attached. Since Club Carlson has products like Radisson, this is a decent deal. I don't much care for most of the Accor hotels.
Lucky (or should we all call you Benny ;)?) , if I book my stay with a 3rd party website, but with the "pay at the hotel", do you believe I would receive the elite members benefits?
I really don't care for the Accorr points, but free internet would be a good perk.
Same with me. Is the link expired?
Hi Lucky, I just used the link. How/When will I get the Platinum status? Because it still says that I'm "Classic"
