Aeroplan Launch Delayed

Aeroplan Launch Delayed

5

Only a day before the formal launch of its revamped program, Aeroplan has announced a day’s delay to “complete adequate testing” with its partners. This pushes the launch from tomorrow afternoon to noon on Monday, November 9. Aeroplan’s site and app have both been down for the transition since November 6.

The program has confirmed that the new benefits for Aeroplan credit cards will be available to members traveling tomorrow.

This is just another chapter in Air Canada’s history of program changeovers and upgrades encountering technical difficulties – it was only a year ago that the airline’s migration to the Amadeus ticketing system wreaked havoc on reward tickets.

Let’s hope this delay is just precautionary and the program launches smoothly on Monday.

I just used my last 110k points for two tickets on Turkish airlines to Europe. Not the worst devalue, but Europe got slaughtered.

I was able to use their search tool to see that business class to Europe is now 70k instead of 55k.
It looks like Air Canada is going to rape their customers.

What happens when a garbage airline takes over.....

Remember Air Canada's flying on time performance was <50% ...

    So is this a surprise?

Their IT staff dropped everything and went out to celebrate the US election results. Can't say I blame them!
