Greetings fellow flyers. I am trying to figure out the best combination of airline mileage program and bank credit card for a US-domiciled traveller to accrue travel benefits on Turkish Airlines. Anyone done this analysis yet? Thanks!

Welcome @LarryR – when you say “travel benefits” on TK are you talking about just accruing miles or are you looking for status as well?

Mainly accruing miles for redemption for travel to Turkey, but some business class lounge access would be a welcome additional benefit.

I suspect the “best” answer will depend on what fare class your revenue tickets are in. If you know that, you can check wheretocredit.com which will offer choices. (Though I’m having trouble with that site right now.)

No US credit cards I’m aware of can transfer points directly to the TK frequent flyer program but of course there are many Star Alliance partners where miles can be transferred from all 4 of the major transferable currencies (UR, MR, SPG, TY)

Based on Frequent Miler’s spreadsheet only Accor and Marriott transfer to TK and the ratios aren’t great. They also do not have a cobranded credit card for the US. Your best bet is likely to accrue miles through other star alliance programs to book on TK and book premium tickets for lounge access or get a credit card that gets you priority pass lounge access.

Thanks for the insights. Looks like a star alliance partner for me.
