New terminal / lounges in DXB

New terminal / lounges in DXB

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi all,

Not so much of a question – but for awareness…!

As a regular QR flier from DXB-UK I echo Lucky’s review previously on the pretty average lounge that existed for premium class/Frequent Fliers… however… the new terminal is now open…!! I’m sure Lucky will review it at some point, but a few quick pro’s and cons:

    Pro’s:

    – Two lounges – 1 QR Premium Lounge, and one for all other airlines! The QR premium one is a HUGE upgrade on the last – featuring the expected high levels of QR Premium service – it’s design is similar to the lounge at LHR just smaller, but features a much more extensive circular food/beverage bar almost identical again to LHR and much upgraded seating and restrooms… it’s leagues above the old one – and is available to QR Frequent Fliers too in economy.

    – Its brand new – so clean lines all around – new duty free, and new train service to arrivals in terminal 1.

    HOWEVER…

    Cons:

    – Biggest one is that there’s always been quite a walk on arrivals and departures, now you take that walk – wait up to 10 minutes for a train, then have to walk the old original distance again – add in the usual immigration queues and it can take 1h30 to get out of the airport!

Overall – massive improvement and I’m sure Lucky will be pleased to hear given his recent not so first class experience there in the old lounge!

    Cheers all!
