Hanoi hotel – help me choose!
Hi everyone,
Usually I can make a hotel choice at all my destinations by using a combination of reviews from @Lucky, FlyerTalk, TripAdvisor and the hotel websites. Totally indecisive through for an upcoming trip to Hanoi.
Only staying two nights (incoming flight lands at 8p), so it’s a short trip. Love the location of the Hilton Opera, but Diamond status (from last years match) goes away Jan 1 and it looks rundown. A bit cheaper rate at Sheraton (SPG Gold) than Intercontinental (IHG Platinum, from the credit card), but the IC does seem to be a better property. (Also great redemption rates at the JW… but it’s FAR from city center). Late check-out is important, because I’ll be departing on the night train to Hue. Breakfast isn’t a big deal… travelling solo and enjoy exploring new cities, especially for food.
Anyone have experience with Hanoi? Recommend any of these options? Thanks!
Sofitel Metropole was perfect for us. The location, the style, and the service were perfect.
Thanks @Rob in Miami … I saw the Sofitel and it looks gorgeous! Also in an ideal location. Although it is a bit more than I want to spend. Will keep an eye on prices and see if there is any sort of sale.
Fow now, I’ve chosen the Intercontinental. One stay will complete 3 of my 4 1st quarter Accelerate offers and get me lots of bonus points.
Just realized my profile pic is from Hanoi. We found that getting an early hour run toward the small nearby park/ lake (profile pic) was a special treat to see locals doing their morning exercises- very interesting. Running through the streets and wrapping around the lakes were great.
