Well, technically 35,000 miles [[URL]https://www.united.com/web/format/pdf/United-Award-Chart-02-01-14.pdf][/URL].
In practice, however, it’s one of those “can’t get there from here” situations. Air New Zealand has suspended service due to the condition of the runway, and United doesn’t partner with any of the other carriers that fly there.
Your best bet is to get to Brisbane, I think, and buy the last segment.
