Refund from American Express Online Travel – Experience / Suggestions
As an amex plt cardholder, never really used the amex travel service. Further did not know there is a big difference between the travel agents and online (just assumed they were the same). Now with that being said, booked 4 intl tickets on Virgin Atlantic and they flights were ultimately cancelled.
We got past the first hurdle where online travel was claiming there was no waiver program in place for the refund. Once we got over that hump (a back and forth between amex and Virgin Atlantic), they then said I would see the refund in 1-2 billing cycles which is a bit ridiculous. Still have not seen the credit, Called a few times and between speaking with amex card services and online travel each time I speak with them it’s a different answer which ranges from the original 1-2 billing cycles to 10-12 weeks.
Anyone have any suggestions / recommendations?
thanking you in advance.
Has it been 2 billing cycles yet? Not to sound naive, but I think patience is key here. 10-12 weeks is par for the course right now on some of these refunds/credits
