Just starting out with Credit Cards

Just starting out with Credit Cards

  1. InternationalKid New Member

So I have just started using credit cards, for all my life I have used cash and made cash under the table. I wanted to know how many cards I could use so I receive the bonuses as well as having a high credit score so I will be able to make other purchases! I’m mostly looking into airline miles so I can redeem them for tickets to places such as South Africa or New Zealand. Thanks!

Welcome @International Kid – do you have an idea of your current credit score? If you’ve not been using credit cards regularly or don’t have home or auto loans banks may not be willing to extend large amounts of credit. I’m assuming you have access to US credit cards but, based on your user name, want to double-check. If you are, you can go to annualcreditreport.com to verify your credit info is correct. Then go to Credit Sesame or Credit Karma to get an idea of your FICO score.

Once you get that info, let us know and we can make some card recommendations.
