First Time Post – UA MP Cards. Keep or Dump?

First Time Post – UA MP Cards. Keep or Dump?

    Hi OMAAT Friends –

Long time reader, first time poster here.

With all the United Premier qualification changes recently, trying to figure out whether or not to keep my United Presidential Plus card and/or my MileagePlus Select cards. I used to have Platinum status but lost it a few years ago – and the only reason I was holding onto the Presidential Plus was for the spend requirement exemption. I travel often for leisure, so definitely not hitting the spend requirement even for Silver.

Now that the PQD exemption is gone, should I ditch them both?

I’m NYC-based and have Alaska MVP Gold status so in a conundrum!

    Thanks!!
    JK

I’m not a UA loyalist but AA recently followed suit with its co-branded credit cards eliminating the same features and I dumped one and downgraded the other to a no fee card. If the card fee exceeds the benefits, it’s time to move on.
