Earning while flying?
This may have been asked an answered many times over (I hope not), but I’m new to this.
I’ve read that one of the ways to earn miles is to fly. Clearly, this is true if you pay for the ticket. But surely you can’t earn miles on an award ticket, right? Is the way to earn miles by flying, economically that is, by going on “mileage runs,” where you pay for cheap tickets but earn full miles?
Is there any other sense in which you can earn miles by flying?
That’s correct — the only time you’d earn miles on a “points” ticket would be if you were using cashback-style points to purchse the ticket, as that’s the same as cash to the airline.
