Discounted Hyatt gift cards
First of all this is not about a mishandled gift card.
I stay at Hyatt every week for business travel. A day before checkout I buy discounted gift cards from ABC gift cards or a similar website and pay with those.
This week I can’t find any inventory that sell egift cards. I am not interested in buying on eBay from 3rd party sellers.
That said I am looking to buy amazon gift cards from an office supply store and use that to buy Hyatt cards on amazon. This gets me 5x UR
Are there better ways to maximize this given the short time frame I have?
Probably your best bet at short notice. Do you have any AmEx cards that received the staples promo recently? If staples has Hyatt egift cards that might be another option.
I don’t have a staples close to my work. Even with that you get 5% cash back. I prefer 5 UR/$ to 5% CB.
It’s not as many points, but if you’re pressed for time, some Vons/Safeway stores have had Hyatt physical gift cards recently. 3x is better than nothing.

I was talking about this one: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/04/19/amex-offers-gift-cards/ for a 25% discount. It would be online.

Using a card that gets 3x spend on grocery stores. Not as lucrative as other options, but maybe faster if you’re in a time crunch.

OK. I have an office depot next door. 5X + convenience is awesome. Thanks though!
