citi cards

ben , i got turned down for the citi bus card and they told me i had applied for too many over a time frame but will not tell me what that timeframe is. the decline was 4/9 and i had applied in feb for the AA platinum card which i have now. how much time do i have to wait to apply? i have no credit problems. also, if i wanted the citi premier would that be the same issue. i just got the premier yesterday for my wife and she recently got her AA platinum so not sure if she could get prestige or AA Business. confusing??? thanks.

The limitations are typically that you can apply for a Citi card eight days after you received your last one, and then another 65 days after that you can apply for another one. How many total cards do you have with Citi? That doesn’t sound right…

i recently cancelled my gold card and have the AA platinum as my only citi card now

Hmmm, that might be the issue. You’re saying you applied for the same card in February and again now? If so, you can’t get the card again if you already have it. That’s probably the issue.

in feb they didnt approve it and said there was an experian issue. i just looked at my report and it is perfect. the girl on the phone said it was not a credit issue but too many applications but she would not say anything else.

I find sometimes when applying for a card more often than once every 18 months that happens. Wouldn’t assume it will happen again if you apply for a different card in a couple months, but the issue is just you applied for the same card twice in a short period, and typically have to wait longer than that.

ok. i will wait to apply for any card with them. do you think it will be safe for my wife to apply for bus card since she never has? on another subject we have miles with delta to australia and AA miles for europe. which one do you think we should use first before either devalues again? we dont care which place we go first.
