Airline Gift Cards

Does anyone know if airlines process their own gift card purchases or does that get contracted out to a third party, similar to purchasing miles? I am running some internal incentives at work where the prize is travel gift cards. Just making sure when I buy $2,500 worth of airline gift cards, I can be selfish and get bonus UR points 🙂

Usually it should show as a charge from the airline itself. I’m not aware of any exceptions amongst the major carriers.
