AA gift cards Amex $200 fee credit

AA gift cards Amex $200 fee credit

Have read that Amex has stopped refunding these? Can anyone corroborate?

I purchased mine two weeks ago (2 $50s and 1 $100) and all were reimbursed

I purchased mine a few weeks ago as well, and was reimbursed.

It’s not that Amex stopped refunding these, but rather, AA is coding them differently – specifying that it’s a gift card (which is not reimbursable under Amex’s terms) instead of Misc/Tax (which IS reimbursable)

If this is indeed the case – it was great while it lasted, but cant really complain about since it was technically a loophole.
